Following an abrupt increase in accidents associated with kite strings in Punjab, the provincial government has taken action not only to crack down on the popular festival-turned-dangerous activity but also to launch a campaign aimed at safeguarding motorcyclists from the hazards posed by kite strings.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken a proactive stance towards ensuring the safety of motorbike riders in the province. In a recent meeting, she directed officials to launch a campaign aimed at installing safety rods on motorbikes, specifically to shield riders from the dangers posed by metal kite strings.
Chairing the provincial cabinet meeting, attended by key officials, Nawaz expressed heartfelt condolences for lives lost in such accidents. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and mitigating preventable risks on the roads.
