Today we present you with the owner’s review of a Toyota Revo Rocco. The Rocco was launched at the start of 2022 as the top-of-the-line variant in the Revo lineup. Some changes were made to the car, including a sportier front bumper, black alloys, and an overall more rugged look. It comes with the same 2.8 liter 1GD producing 201 hp and 500 nm of torque paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Today, the owner will share the experience of owning a Rocco and brief us about some of the exciting modifications he has done to it.

Purchase Decision

The owner considered two cars, including the Fortuner Legender and Rocco. He went with the Rocco because of his past ownership of the Hilux and because it looked way better with modifications compared to the Fortuner. When it was first launched, the price difference was 4 lacs between the standard V and Rocco; hence the owner decided to get this.

Modifications

The owner has upgraded this Rocco with a few modifications on the exterior. These include a Hamer front bumper, aftermarket lights on the bumper, stronger coil springs at the front, all-terrain BF Goodrich tyres, and an electronically operated trunk lid.

Suspension And Handling

Having leaf springs at the rear, Revo’s suspension was known to be very stiff and bumpy initially. In the facelift in 2021, Toyota made some changes that the owner feels have improved the drive to a great extent. In his opinion, as soon as he took this car out of the dealership, he instantly felt the suspension was relatively softer. He also thinks that the road grip has improved, and the Rocco feels more grounded and stable at high speeds compared to the pre-facelift car.

Fuel Average

As per the owner, his drive includes a lot of idling time with the AC, which worsens the fuel consumption. Still, the car manages to give an average of roughly 10 km/l within the city, increasing to 12-13 km/l on the highway.

Features

The facelift not only added cosmetic changes, but Toyota also added some handy features which the owner really appreciates. Some of these include dual-cone climate control, which is very useful for the owner. Other than that, it now has parking sensors, the interior feels more premium with the blacked-out theme, and overall, the Hilux has improved a lot from its initial iteration. On the contrary, the owner really misses the paddle shifters in this car which, according to him, are very helpful in off-road terrains.

Maintenance

As per the owner, he is very finicky about his car’s maintenance; hence he changed its oil after 400 kilometers of buying the car. Instead of Toyota’s engine oil, he uses Liqui Moly 10w40 in his Rocco, which he changes every 2500 kilometers despite it having a life of 7000 kilometers. An average maintenance costs around 18,000, which includes oil and oil filter. Additionally, he changes the fuel filter every 10,000 kilometers along with the cabin and air filter to maximize his car’s potential.
