We hope that this variant will be a success as the companies are facing serious issues in selling the cars. The major reason behind this is the unavailability of raw materials and non-issuance of Letter of Credit (LCs) by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for CKD kits.

Last month’s PAMA reports showed a huge drop in sales for the car companies including Pak Suzuki. The company sold 3,954 units last month against 6,679 units in July – reporting the lowest monthly sales in consecutive second month. (MoM decline: 41%).

The data shows that the company sold 2,293 units of Alto last month compared to 4,618 units in July 2022. Meanwhile, Suzuki sold 411 units of Suzuki Cultus, 365 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 532 units of Suzuki Swift, and 227units of Suzuki Bolan, and 126 units of Suzuki Ravi in August.

This shows even the car like Alto is facing difficulties in leaving the dealerships. And the situation of near future also doesn’t seem to improve as the dollar is again going up against the Pakistani rupee, which will surely put pressure on the companies and consumers alike.
