Islamabad local government to revive toll plazas

The Local Government of Islamabad is all set to revive the toll plazas at the entry and exit points of Islamabad to increase its revenue reports a local media outlet.

According to the details, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has decided to re-open the toll plazas in the capital. The funds will be used to carry out civic duties in the city. The important decision was taken during the 33rd session of the IMC.

Moreover, the federal government has abolished toll tax incentive given to ministers and senators and now they too, like the general public, will pay toll tax. The decision was lauded by the general population.

NHA is also launching an iOS app to help the commuters easily access information, especially the region-based details and fiscal policy of both ongoing and completed projects of NHA, toll rates and road safety guidelines. Additionally, the authority is upgrading toll plazas and facilities at service areas on both motorways and highways to give commuters more benefits and facilities.
