Woman Beggar Arrested in Abu Dhabi Owns a Luxury Car

In strict action against begging, Abu Dhabi police found a beggar woman owning a luxury car. As per media reports, police monitored her begging in front of different mosques in the city.

Mind you, Begging is unlawful in Abu Dhabi, and police suggest the citizens to make donation via registered organizations in the state. Police arrested 159 beggars in the emirate between November 6 and December 12, 2022.

“Begging is an uncivilized act in society and a crime in the UAE. The beggars have the potential for fraud and are out to cheat people and cash in on their generosity,” police informed.

If someone is found begging, it is considered a punishable act. The penalty for the act is a fine of up to AED 5000 and minimum imprisonment of three months. Moreover, organizing begging activity comes with severest penalties – a fine of up to AED 100,000 and six-month jail.

Number Plate Sold for PKR. 29 Crores in Dubai

A Dubai number plate, “AA 13,” was sold for a massive 4.4 million Dirhams (1.2 million US dollars) at an auction last weekend. And 4.4 million dirhams are 29-crore in Pakistani rupees, which is just astonishing.

As per media reports, the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai held an auction at Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel to sell specific number plates. The “AA 13” registration number plate was the most expensive item sold during this 110th Open Auction for Distinctive Vehicle Number Plates.

The Transport authority earned 37.328 million Dirhams from the auction.

The other number plates also brought huge amounts like “U 70” saw the second highest bid of 3 million Dirhams, while plate number “Z 1000” was sold in 2.21 million Dirhams, and “V 99999” roped 1.26 million Dirhams.
