After Honda, Pak Suzuki Also Terminates a Dealership

It looks like a season of leaving and termination of dealerships and car companies in Pakistan. A couple of months ago, a few Proton dealerships announced their separations from the company over multiple issues, including late deliveries. Then, earlier this week, Honda Atlas announced the suspension of one of its major dealerships in Rawalpindi, and now Suzuki Pakistan, commonly known as Pak Suzuki, has made a similar announcement regarding one of its dealerships.

Pak Suzuki Notice

In a public announcement, the car assembler stated, “Suzuki Daska Motors has dissociated from Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited as its authorized dealership with effect from October 10, 2023.” The notice further read that the above dealerships have no right and authority to deal with and book the Suzuki brand of vehicles as the company’s dealer and accept payment. “The party will be solely responsible for any violations,” the car company asserted.

Suzuki Pakistan has advised the customers to refrain from contacting the above-said ex-dealer for the booking and aftersales services of Suzuki brand vehicles.

The car assembler has not mentioned any reason for the termination of the dealerships. The local car market is phasing through a low-demand time period due to record-high inflation and prices of cars. Suzuki Pakistan has remained famous for providing small vehicles to cater to the middle-class segment of society, but currently, the cheapest car from Suzuki costs over Rs. 2 million, which indeed is out of reach of the common person.

In the last few months, the company has announced multiple offers, including finance, free registration, and exchange, to name a few, but the sales numbers have not increased much. Hopefully, the situation for Suzuki Pakistan and all other companies will improve in the coming days as PKR is strengthening against the US dollar. Kia Pakistan has even announced a price decrease, hinting some hopeful days for the auto market and industry.

What could be the reason behind the termination of the dealership by Pak Suzuki? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
