There’s a rumour floating around about the closure of United cars. They are saying that United Motors is saying goodbye to its two car models, United Bravo and United Alpha, and focusing on the motorcycle business. Is this true? Company officials say ‘No’
The first thing we did when we heard the rumour was to call a company official. This is what the official told us about the rumoured exit of United cars from the market.
“This is nothing but a false and baseless rumour. United Motors is not at all shutting down its operations. In fact, the company is going stronger than ever. We are selling both our car models, Bravo and Alpha, and delivering the cars within a week.”
Dealerships say ‘Yes’
Then we rang up two United dealerships to get their say on the matter. Both dealerships solidified the rumour, saying it’s true.
“We have under 50 units of United Bravo and Alpha. Once we sell these, there won’t be any restocks. The cars will be discontinued in the market.”
What does it look like?
Taking both statements into account, it’s hard to see what the future holds for United cars. On one side, we have the word of an official company source, and on the other, we have the words of company dealerships. Who do you think is telling the truth?
United cars are serving the middle class of Pakistan, who want to buy a brand-new car for less than Rs. 15 lacs. I would not feel different because it is a Chinese car and under 1.5million one can get cars like Baleno, Indus Corolla and 9th generation Corolla and all of them are way better in every regard.
