Is MG Capital Really Closed?

2 31,024

MG Pakistan seems to be in another problem, and this time its dealership in Islamabad, MG Capital. Yesterday, a video started circulating on social media in which a group of people can be seen arguing and even physically altercating with the dealership’s staff. As per reports, the people were angry over the late delivery of their MG cars. In the video, people can be heard complaining about the delay in deliveries and asking dealership staff to give them a clear answer.

Along with the clip, there was a screenshot circulating on social media that MG Capital is closed. The sources have claimed the dealership’s target was 400 bookings, but it booked almost 1200 vehicles and that is why buyers are not receiving their cars. Furthermore, the consumers who have booked the car claimed that the staff has walked out of the dealership due to the arguments with customers; hence, MG Capital is closed.

Response by MG

In a response, MG Pakistan rejected the reports that the dealership is closed permanently or staff walked out. “MG Capital is temporarily closed for disinfection as per COVID guidelines,” the statement read, adding that deliveries of MG HS will continue under strict COVID SOPs.

MG Pakistan Response

While talking to PakWheels.com, the MG official said that one of the employees at MG Capital tested positive and that is why it is closed for the time being. Talking about the late deliveries issue, the official said all brands are facing this problem. “But our volumes are one of the highest, hence, more noise volume,” he added.

New MGs

Discussing the arrival of new MG vehicles at Karachi port, the official told us that most of these vehicles are under clearance and on the way to dealerships across the country for deliveries.

  1. Captain says

In Pakistan such incidents have taken impetus. Companies should not book vehicles beyond their capacities but they do so to earn money and thus should be penalized handsomely. People agony is agreed to and it’s human nature to react. I still wonder why people are after MG, a company who still doesn’t have many show rooms in country, nor have developed 3S services to the core and is a Chinese product with British stigma at the rear. Performance is yet to be seen!
