A few days back, some local media reports and automotive blogs claimed that Toyota Yaris Hybrid will be launched in Thailand soon. However, they didn’t mention the time or other details about the car. We have always tried to bring authentic news for you, so we did some digging. We checked the Toyota Thailand website, but there was no mention of this car anywhere, and no other major international automotive blog discussed it.
There was only one mention about Toyota Yaris Hybrid and its possible launch in Thailand, which is from PakWheels Blog, interestingly, which is about seven months old. We mentioned the hybrid variant in the blog when the 2023 Yaris was launched in Thailand.
Toyota Yaris Hybrid – Potential Power
In that blog of August 2022, we mentioned rumors about the Thailand launch of a version with 1.5L 3-cylinder/ M15A-FXE, a naturally aspirated 2-motor hybrid engine with 90hp and 120nm of torque. Furthermore, Toyota is using the same engine and hybrid setup. Here are the photos of this setup:
Meanwhile, our experts believe that the production of this car was reportedly underway; however, there is no confirmed news of its launch. “There is going to be an event of Toyota Thailand on February 17, 2023, and maybe the company will share some details about this car,” one of our experts said, adding that we should keep a close eye on that event.
In conclusion, there have been rumours about this car for almost seven months, but nothing has been officially confirmed or shared. Hence, we have to wait and watch for the possible launch of a hybrid Yaris in Thailand.
