JW Forland is the next big player you don’t know about

Every day we keep on hearing rumors, reading articles on new automobile brands coming in or planning to launch in Pakistan. Given the interest the general public has in automobiles, it’s easy to see why there is such an immense intrigue. We keep talking about cars and how there is a dire need for new players but often overlook a key segment of this industry: commercial vehicles. With the influx of foreign investment and increase in infrastructure development, the need for reliable commercial vehicles is greater than ever. Current automobile brands and new-comers are vying for a piece of the share of the market.

But there is one company that isn’t being talked about as much as other players and that company is JW Forland. Have you heard about them? I recently got to know about them through PakWheels when I stumbled upon their price list. Naturally, I had to find out more. The company has a significant social media presence and a website which provides all the details about their Bravo cargo trucks (1 – 7.5-ton) and Alpha dump truck (3-ton). Recently, I checked out its Facebook page and the company announced that it is set to begin local production in June 2018. How are people not talking about such a huge step JW Forland has taken? This will definitely rattle the cage as a number of rivals are still dealing with formalities of setting up their production facilities in Pakistan while these guys are about to begin production.

I saw a couple of trucks parked on Rashid Minhas Road near Gulshan Chowrangi in Karachi and found the quality to be fine in terms of finishing and body. Didn’t get a chance to take a test drive so I’m not sure about that at the moment.

Though the subtle approach by JW Forland is seemingly paying dividends, I think the company should make regular announcements about the developments taking place (or perhaps this was a deliberate move). According to some sources, JW Forland has already sold out its first consignment of vehicles, which comprised of approximately 100 trucks. This is HUGE news for Pakistan’s automotive industry. Not only is there interest in JW Forland’s vehicles, the quality, it appears, is good too.

JW Forland has earned my respect. For a brand to be quiet, yet make an impact before being launched takes a whole new level of passion, guts and intelligence. Let the crowd make the noise because those who rumble seldom make it rain.
