MG Motors recently launched the facelift of its MG ZS EV with a price increase and a bundle of tweaks in its overall fascia. Let’s take a deep dig into the features to have a better comparison of both models.

Overview

The new MG ZS EV looks larger and more like a C-segment crossover than the previous one, which looked like a subcompact SUV. The older model was launched in 2021 with basic trim availability. However, the facelift has arrived with two variants, MCE and Long range.

MG ZS Old Vs. New Exterior

The former crossover came with projector headlamps and a boxy front grille in galaxy design, while the new one comes with a pronounced muscular grille integrated with modern projector headlamps. It has a charging port, 360-degree camera, inlets for battery cooling, and radar at the front bumper. The older ZS had alloy wheels with turbine style, and the new one had similar alloy wheels with an aerodynamic plate on the top. Both the variants follow the same character lines and a keyless entry with a modern rear design with a diffuser and a manually operated tailgate. Indicators with the side mirrors come as a recent modification.

Interior Comparison

The facelift model gives a premium feel with a carbon-fibre-styled dash with leather stitching steering. However, the digital style cluster panel looks revolutionary in comparison with the former analog style. The new model gives a push start and a 10-inch LED screen that comes with various options, including EV information, navigation, and media controls. Climate Control has been enhanced with press buttons under the LED. The latest model has a 12V USB outlet, wireless charger, and Android Auto; however, the older one came with a USB outlet only.

ZS EV is a single-speed transmission with Forward Wheel Drive accommodating a dial-style gear and regenerative braking system for enhanced range. The latest model features three driving models with a real-time range display on the LED screen. It has a 6-way power adjustable driving seat, panoramic rood, and hand bars given in the front.

Safety and Mileage

The latest model of ZS comes with 6 airbags and a bundle of ADAS features, including RCTA, Bicycle-cross alert, Lane Keep, Lane Assist, and others.

In addition, MCE has a 51kWH battery, giving a range of 350 km within the city, and the long-range variant gas, a 72kWH battery, provides a whopping 400 km of range. In contrast, the previous model had a 45kWH battery with a 300 km range only.
