OGRA has proposed a petrol price hike of Rs. 83.5. The news came right after the dollar went up to Rs. 266.
According to Arif Habib Limited, Pakistan’s largest securities brokerage and investment banking firm, the new expected prices of petrol might be Rs. 288.03 per liter, and high speed diesel (HSD) might cost Rs. 323.29 per liter from 1st February 2023.

It is still to be seen what price the government will finalize by the end of the month. The price hike is highly dependent on the petrol levy and how much levy the government will impose.

Last month, on 15th January 2023, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had announced that petrol prices will remain unchanged in Pakistan for the second half of January 2023, considering the cold weather. The prices have remained unchanged throughout January, but it seems like this blessing has been short-lived.

It is always a good idea to stay informed about petrol prices and to try to be mindful of energy consumption, as it can help to save money and reduce our impact on the environment. You can find the updated petrol, high speed diesel and kerosene prices here!
