Yesterday, we shared the initial information we had about the 2016 Honda Civic Type R. Now, as the official details and pictures are revealed, and the Civic Type R is one of the most anticipated cars this year, we thought we should update our readers with everything we could get our hands on.
The most important news; it’s fitted with a 2.0L turbocharged engine that will be producing 306 hp (not 280 we reported earlier) and 400 Nm of torque. The rpm red-line is at 7000 and will deliver peak torque at 2500. This will push the hot hatch from zero to 100 kph in 5.7 seconds. The specially designed 235/35 tires are wrapped around 19″ newly designed alloy wheels and Brembo brakes are fitted as standard with 350mm drilled discs to help the hot hatch stop. There will be Type R red and black suede seats with leather wrapped steering wheels and aluminum gear lever. The hatch will get an android based entertainment system as standard. The upgraded GT package will include parking sensors, auto lights and wipers as well as a Garmin navigation with premium 8 speaker stereo system.
