Suzuki Swift Sport goes from 0-to-60 in just 8.7 seconds

I have no idea how fast your old yet new Pakistani Swift achieves 60 from 0 but I am assuming that it is not this fast as at the on-going Auto Expo in India, Maruti Suzuki has just showcased Swift Sport to the visitors which goes from 0-to-60 MPH in just 8.7 seconds which is quite quick for a Suzuki.

Without the intentions to actually launch it in India, Maruti Suzuki displayed the car which is equipped with a 1.6 liter 16v 4-cyl. engine producing 100 PS at 6,900 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm which sounds like a lot of fun. This amount of power pushes the car from 0-to-60 mph in 8.7 seconds ultimately reaching to a top speed of 193 km/h while 15.62 kmpl as per the EU economy tests however, don’t expect the sames results when you’re flooring it. (I doubt Pakistani Swift gives anything even remotely near to that mileage).

And it is well equipped as well because it is a European model presented in India for the first time for the wishes of Swift Sport enthusiasts. Indian autos blog wrote the list of “standard” features:

ABS, EBD, ESP, dual front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, driver knee airbag, HID projector headlights with headlamp washers, automatic headlights, power folding wing mirrors, sports seats, stainless steel sport pedals, keyless entry with engine start button and a Bluetooth compatible music system.

That’s a lot of equipment so even if Swifts Sports comes here, that equipment will make it as expensive as the new Civic but regardless, the most essential part of the Swift Sport is the engine and a couple of acronyms like ABS, EBD, and ESP to make everything work in perfect harmony.
