The fuel prices in Pakistan in 2023 reached a record-high level for several reasons, including PKR depreciation against the USD, the high rate of oil in the international market, the Ukraine-Russia conflict, and import issues. In September this year, the petrol price reached Rs. 331/liter, the highest in the country’s history, crushing the already inflation-hit masses. Earlier, we shared a complete table of fuel prices in the last 12 months, but to make it more simple, we are sharing the trend through a chart.

As you can see, the petrol price in Pakistan were lowest at the start of this year and hit the most expensive in September. The political and economic instability had caused this bloodbath of prices in the country. Sadly, the situation is still not much better, and experts believe that the coming days could be more challenging.

These graphs clearly show that 2023 was a tough year for Pakistan because the fuel prices are directly linked to the inflation in the country.
