Today we’re back with the owner’s review of the Peugeot 2008. In this video, the owner shares his experience with this European crossover and tells us why he thinks this is the best family car in the market. The Peugeot 2008 was launched earlier this year by Lucky motors in 2 variants, Active and the high-spec Allure variant. It comes with a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine producing 130hp and 230Nm of torque configured with a 6-speed automatic transmission giving power to the front wheels.

Purchase Decision

The owner was in search of a new car and came across the Peugeot 2008. According to him, his main buying decision was the strong brand name of Peugeot and the global reputation it held relative to other brands in the market. At that time, Sportage and Tucson also fell in the same price range, but the added features in the Peugeot 2008 got the owner sold for it. He bought the car at an invoice of 58.50 lacs.

Salient Features

The car is well equipped with modern features, which include driver assistance features like lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, automatic high beams, low light pedestrian detection, speed limit detection, and much more. The 3D instrument cluster adds to the modern-looking interior, panoramic roof, ambient lights, 360-degree camera, parking sensors, cruise control, etc., to the long list of features.

Fuel Average

The Peugeot 2008 is known to have a decent fuel average. The owner gets an average of 12 to 13 km/l within the city on normal driving; however, if the car is pushed, it goes down to 10 km/l. The owner has not tested it on the highway but is pretty satisfied with the car’s overall fuel consumption.

Engine Power

A 1.2-liter engine might be small on paper and may raise the question of the car being underpowered or sluggish. However, the Peugeot 2008 proves to be far from sluggish and provides very good power. As per the owner, the acceleration is excellent because of the turbo, and the accelerating engine noise is also not overwhelming. The car has 230 nm of torque which helps the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 in around 9 seconds.

Space

The Peugeot 2008 is a B segment Crossover and has a compact size, but surprisingly the interior is very spacious. According to the owner, there is no issue with headroom and legroom for passengers, and the seats are very comfortable. The car has plenty of storage spaces inside the cabin, along with a decent-sized boot.

Maintenance And Spare Parts

As per the owner, Peugeot’s after-sale services have been great, with timely maintenance reminders. Parts are also readily available, the owner got the front bumper replaced, and it was available at a nominal price.

Registration Cost

As per the owner, he paid around Rs. 130,000 for the registration of his Peugeot 2008.

    Biazed!
Best family car, what a joke ! Is a subcompact SUV like Kia Stonic, with a weaker engine than Kia Stonic, two years warranty only when Kia Stonic is offering 4 years, Stonic is also cheaper and more comfortable, and durable.
Kia Stonic 5 stars EuroNCAP vs Peugeot 2008 4 stars EuroNCAP.
Those peugeot engines are fragile and will break down starting at 60 000km.
Peugeot one of the worst brand in the world.
Want a cheap family car go for Honda BR-V available with 7 seats, or are you wealthy? then go for Kia Carnival.
Looking for a subcompact SUV ? go for Kia Stonic.
