Driverless cars to be introduced in coming years in Pakistan

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Minister for Science and Technology, has stated that driverless cars will be on Pakistani roads in the next few years. He also stated that PTI plans to make sure that the latest technologies get introduced in Pakistan. Mr. Fawad asserted that the driverless cars are already on the agenda of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and it is the aim of the ministry to bring the latest technologies to Pakistan. The minister also proclaimed that deaths resulting from road accidents would also be reduced by 90 percent. 

The minister also cited Google in his remarks that it is in the last stages of testing autonomous and driverless cars. Tesla has also ventured into autonomous and driverless technology with its autopilot feature. However, such a feature has faced a few glitches over the years and is still in the process of improvement. According to him, Pakistan also has the necessary infrastructure to introduce this technology. 

He also took credit for equipping the police with the latest technologies, stating that this move has regained the public confidence and made police more efficient. According to Mr. Fawad, the fast-paced world of social media demands that our police adopt technology and remained informed to take action at the right time.

Rolling out driverless cars will surely revolutionize the way we travel on the motorway. Pakistan has been busy building new motorways over the years, and with the introduction of driverless cars, more and more people will prefer to travel by road.
