The Toyota Corolla Facelift was just recently unveiled by Toyota Pakistan. we’ve all seen the highest end Toyota Corolla Altis Grande in all its glory with new features such as push start ignition, sports mode button, traction control etc. But what about the lower end 1.3 liters Corolla’s specifically the Toyota Corolla GLi, what exactly is new with that variant?

Design wise the new facelifted Corolla GLi features the same updated design that we’ve already seen in much detail with the Altis Grande. The front end houses a pair of new sharper looking headlights with LED clearance lamps, a new smaller grille that is only partially chrome as opposed to the full chrome grille on the Altis Grande. The front bumper also features the same new design with a large air intake and aggressive styling cues that are usually seen on higher end sports sedans. The side mirrors now also come with integrated turn signals. However, the GLi variant doesn’t feature fog lights in its front bumper like the Altis Grande. Around the rear, you get pretty much the same design as the Altis Grande with the horizontal chrome trim piece and new LED taillights with an updated rear bumper.

Engine wise with the Corolla GLi you get the same 1.3-liter Inline-4 engine that produces 84bhp and 121 Nm of torque, all this comes mated as standard to a 5-speed manual transmission with a 4-speed automatic transmission available as an optional extra. Stepping into the interior you get a new Flaxen interior design with black and beige soft touch plastic trim pieces, ISOFIX rear child seat anchors and you also get a new 4 speaker stereo system along the usual host of features that we’ve seen before that includes air conditioning, power mirrors, power windows, rear armrest with cupholders and dual front airbags. Exterior color choices also remain the same with choices including white, attitude black, silver metallic, graphite, strong blue, and bronze mica.

It was, still is and will continue to remain a rubbish car to drive.

Much refined and sleeker look. Corolla deserve this treatment. Loving it.
