In this tips and advice article, we will show you the whole process of getting a learner and driving license in Lahore through a video. To understand the complete procedure, we visited the Lahore Traffic Police Center, where a senior official shared the full details.
Learner Permit
First, the candidate will enter their mobile number into the Que-matic machine, and a printed slip will come out. Then they go to the allotted counter, hand over their original CNIC to the official, and get their learner permit with a validity of 42 days to six months. The candidate can take the driving license test during this time. If the learner permit expires, the candidate will get a renewal, their driving test will be taken immediately, and a relaxation of 42 days will not be given to them.
Preparation for Driving Test
According to the official, the candidate can download Traffic Sign Test App and complete the preparation of road signs. Meanwhile, for the driving test, the candidate has to visit the Traffic Police Center, where he will get the token; the officials will enter their bio-data, a registration number will be generated, and after getting the CNIC number and thumb impression, the written test will be started.
The candidate has two minutes to complete the Traffic Sign Test. They must get at least 50% marks, meaning 5 out of 10, to pass the test. After passing the test, the candidate is taken for a road test.
Road Test – Car & Bike
For the road test, the traffic police official will tell the candidate about the driving test. In Lahore, they have to drive straight, turn right and then reverse the car on the same path. The candidate must avoid hitting the traffic cones, and they can change the gear only once during the test. According to the official, the candidate can only reverse the car using side and back view mirrors.
Meanwhile, the process for a bike license is the same, and for the road tests, the candidate has to bring their bike with a helmet and ride it in the given course, and indicators are a must at turning points.
