PAMA – Car Sales Decreased By 3% Last Month

Every month, we provide a report translating the sales performance of all car manufacturers who are members of PAMA. For several months now, the automotive industry has been experiencing a continuous decline in sales. Following February 2024, car sales have once again decreased last month.

As per the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) report, there was 3% decrease observed in month-on-month (MoM) car sales, with 9,379 units sold in March 2024 compared to 9,709 vehicles in February 2024.

However, in a year-on-year (YoY) analysis, there’s been a slight decrease of 1%. Car manufacturers managed to sell 9,379 cars compared to 9,472 vehicles during the same period last year.

Two & Three Wheelers

Similarly, there was 1% decline in sales of two and three-wheelers, reaching 93,016 units last month compared to 93,770 units sold in Feb’24. Atlas Honda sales dropped by 2% reaching 71,827 units last months against 82,104 units in February 2024.

Meanwhile, Pak Suzuki also experienced an increase of 11%, selling 1,610 units last month compared to 1,446 bikes in feb’24.

Trucks & Buses

Sales of trucks and buses experienced a remarkable downturn of 12 month-on-month (MoM), with 311 units sold last month compared to 353 in February 2024.

Company-Wise Sales Breakdown

Toyota Pakistan witnessed a 16% decrease in sales, selling 1,705 units last month compared to 2,036 vehicles in February 2024.

Meanwhile, Honda Atlas observed a jump of 44%, selling 2,188 units last month compared to 1,517 units in February 2024.

Pak Suzuki Motors Company’s sales increased by 16%, selling 4,101 vehicles against 4,885 cars in February 2024.

Hyundai Nishat increased by 3%, selling 582 units last month compared to 567 units in Feb’24.

It is worth mentioning that sales numbers for Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton are not included in the report as they are not PAMA members.

Car-Wise Sales Breakdown

PSMC (Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company) sold 3,373 units of Alto, 320 units of Suzuki Cultus, 136 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 663 units of Suzuki Swift, 183 units of Suzuki Bolan, and 210 units of Suzuki Ravi.

Toyota Indus sold 1,547 units of Corolla, Corolla Cross and Yaris, and 158 units of Fortuner and Hilux.

Honda Atlas sold 1,994 units of City and Civic, and 194 units of BR-V .

Hyundai Nishat sold 92 units of Elantra, 70 units of Sonata, 170 units of Porter, and 250 units of Tucson.
