A six-member delegation led by Thomas Wang met Mayor of Karachi and offered this lucrative help. He said that the company would gift two new electric buses to the city which will reach within next two months. The primary purpose of these buses would be to examine and evaluate their productivity on the roads of Karachi.

Waseem Akhtar also asserted that the Chinese firm had given us many options such as they can operate the buses themselves or work in a joint venture or could just simply sell it to us. We are thoroughly looking into the options given to us by the company and will choose what is best for the city and the general masses.

Under the project around 500 stations would be built where the buses could come and recharge themselves, he further added. Moreover, if the bus is charged once it can cover around 280-kilometre distance.

In my opinion, the offer is good and shouldn’t be taken lightly; it will not only help the public transportation of the city but also help clean the city’s environment as the buses are electric and eco-friendly.

The world is moving towards electric-power and renewable source to charge the country and also the vehicles, so it is high time for Pakistan to do the same. The neighboring countries India and China are also committed to filtering out fossil fuel based vehicles and electricity making plants in a bid to stop air pollution and global warming which is a potential threat to the Earth and the human race.
