Double-Decker bus service started for Wagah border

In an interesting turn of events, the Government of Punjab has announced double-decker bus service for Wagah border. It is pertinent to mention here that the double-decker bus service was started last year in Lahore by TDCP (Tourism Development Corporation Punjab) to take tourists and as well as Lahories to historical sites of Lahore.

The government of Punjab has just added another route to its bus service, and that is Wagah border, now tourists can reach to the border and watch the iconic parade without any hassle. The bus has started its operation on the new route from 9 Dec 2017. A roadmap has been made for this purpose to reach Wagah border. And according to the details revealed, the course is Main Boulevard, Jail Road, Ring Road, Lahore Canal, Grand Trunk road and lastly Wagah border.

The bus can house 60 passengers at one time, and begins it service from Qaddafi Stadium Terminal at 2:30 pm daily and travel back to the terminal sharp at 6 pm. Furthermore, the bus is equipped with many features such as wifi and LEDs to let people watch the historical places of Lahore.

Moving onwards, the bus has all necessary safety features and Hi-Tec real-time surveillance. Tourists are entertained with live commentary by experts.

According to the government of Punjab, the main aim of this project is to highlight the historic cultural heritage of Lahore. The project is being supervised by Rana Mashood Ahmed current Tourism Minister of Punjab. Officials have also announced that if the demand increase, they would add another bus to the route.

Aside from Punjab Government starting bus service to Wagah, a few days back the provincial government got go-ahead by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to continue work on Orange Line Metro Train Project, which was halted by Lahore High Court on 11 historic sites to save them from harm.
