When a driver commits a traffic violation, such as overspeeding, running a red light, or parking in a no-parking zone, the traffic police issue a challan as a penalty. A traffic challan is an essential tool in promoting road safety and maintaining traffic discipline. It is a legal penalty for violating traffic rules and regulations.
The first method is to deposit your traffic challan right there and then. This can be easily done by using EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or any other microfinance bank. This is the quickest and easiest way to deposit your challan fee. It eliminates the risk of you forgetting to submit your fee. It also allows you to keep your documents with yourself instead of handing them over to the traffic police warden.
The Process
If you do not have the facilities of Easypaisa, JazzCash, etc., or you do not know how to use them, then there is the other conventional way. As of this procedure, you must hand over your documents, such as your driving license or national identification card, to the traffic police warden.
The ticketing officer will keep your documents with them for 10 days. After days, these documents are submitted to the kachehri. After 10 days, the violator can pay the required amount at the National Bank of Pakistan and receive their documents at the kachehri.
At the time of issuance of the traffic challan, the violator receives a text message from the traffic police containing information regarding the challan. In case the message does not go through due to any technical difficulties, traffic wardens write down the information on a piece of paper, which can be used to submit the challan fee.
If the challan is not paid, the violator may face legal action and additional fines. Furthermore, an unpaid challan can also result in the suspension of the vehicle registration or driving license.
