Traveling to Muree is no longer difficult now. In a bid to facilitate the tourists and families thronging the hill station, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially initiated a shuttle service between Islamabad and Muree.
As per the details, the shuttle service would ply from Bara Kahu to Lower Topa (Muree). This service would help the tourist for one month. A bus will depart from Bara Kahu every one-and- a-half-hours after this week. Afterward, the service will operate only on weekends from the next week.
Authority has stated that tourists will have to pay Rs. 100 for one side to avail of the shuttle service. Whilst senior citizens over 65 years of age would use the service free of cost.
PMLN leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Hanif Abbasi, and CDA Chairman Mohammad Usman attended the inauguration ceremony.
Chairman CDA captain® Muhammad Usman Younas stated that the purpose to launch the service is to bring the traffic down on the Murre Expressway in the peak seasons.
It is pertinent to mention that this is not the first time the service has been launched between Islamabad and Muree. Earlier, the Punjab government inaugurated the same service, operating 15 buses plying from Islamabad to hill Station charging Rs. 100 for one side.
Tips to Visit Snow-Covered Murree
The police have shared the following tips and advice for tourists:
- Get your car checked mechanically because a healthy car is a must.
- Use snow chains on car tyres, and carry a tow bar/chain.
- The car’s battery health must be excellent.
- Use anti-freeze in the car’s radiator.

- Give way to snow clearing and chemical spraying vehicles during the snowfall on priority bases.
- Use the car heater very carefully, and don’t use it while closing all the windows for a long time because it could create Carbon Monoxide in the car cabin and prove to be lethal.
