Honda HR-V Delivery Time Pushed to July 2023
Honda HR-V was launched last Friday (October 21, 2022), and we shared the booking price and delivery details with you. The company official told us at the event if you book the car tomorrow, you will get it in November 2022. If you book the vehicle at the end of this week or month, the car will be delivered in December 2022. And if you visit the Honda dealership next month or later for the booking, you will get the car in January 2023. However, it seems that there is a change or a U-Turn in company’s policy about Honda HR-V delivery time.
Today on Twitter, famous journalist Omar R. Quraishi shared a relative’s experience booking this new crossover SUV. As per Quraishi, his relative visited a Honda dealership in Karachi, asked about the delivery time, and was told by the staff that he would get the car in January 2023.
“My relative got these details from the sales staff at the dealership – went to the bank to make the pay order & deposited it at the dealership on Tuesday (October 25) – by afternoon, a call was received from the dealership informing the customer that delivery had been pushed to June,” the journalist wrote. He claimed that it was coming from Honda Atlas, and the menace of “ON Money” is behind it.
You can read his tweets in this thread:
A relative went to Honda Defence in Karachi after hearing of the HR-V model's release – the vehicle costs Rs 6.2 million & you have to submit an advance of Rs 1.3 million to book your vehicle
The model was unveiled last Fri (Oct 21) & by Monday customers were told of Jan delivery— omar r quraishi (@omar_quraishi) October 25, 2022
New Honda HR-V Delivery Time
After this tweet, PakWheels decided to find the truth; hence, we called three different Honda dealerships in Lahore. And the dealerships confirmed this update. The staff member from the first dealership told us that the delivery time is now July 2023. “This time period is for today’s bookings, and if you book the car tomorrow, it could extend further,” the representative told us.
After enquiring about the previous delivery time announced by Honda, another dealership official told us that “all the slots till July have been filled.” Meanwhile, the third dealership said that the delivery time is June-July 2023.
The company’s U-Turn is surprising because this practice will further encourage the “ON Money” practice in the local market.
They planning ” on money “, well the car is good but boycott them.
Either the deliveries are on time or this model will fall.
Well… Saw this coming a mile away!
This smelled of a con job from the get go. People fell for it as usual. Honda launched a product they did not have and were not ready for. I’m sure that they will now claim “the unprecedented and overwhelming” response and booking for the vehicle that went beyond their power to deliver on time. Suuuuure! 🙄 🤦♂️
It is always funnily surprising to see how the market analysts at these companies fail to judge the market response for their new launches and anticipate and prepare for such scenarios. Paid to do nothing I guess… 🤷♂️
In a sane world this company would now face a slew of legal actions from customers for malpractice and misinformation. But this being Pakistan and fanboys only too happy to throw their money at this company; the customers will wait for whatever time period the company deems ok and pay what ever price hikes the company decides to implement.
And waiting for what? a very average crossover with very average features which, somehow, they have convinced their fanboys is premium.
Time to wake up yet…?
Being a Honda Emblem at rear of vehicle has compelled INVESTORS to make money through ON and thus booked vehicles overwhelmingly. Else, Hondas early statement would have steadfast.
