Rehan JapakBoy’s New Mercedes E63 AMG – Owner Review
Today we’re back with the owner’s review of Rehan Tanvir’s Mercedes E63 AMG. In this review, Rehan shares his experience with his newly acquired car and briefs us about its specs and features. The w212 Mercedes is the 4th generation E class which was launched in 2010; the E63 AMG variant was also offered, which came with a 6.2 liter V8 engine producing around 525hp and 630 Nm of torque. This engine is configured with a 7-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
Purchase Decision
Before this car, the owner converted two other AMGs, including a w211 E63 which had the same engine as this, and a C63 AMG, but he sold those without extensively driving them. He then wanted another AMG, and he really admired the look of the w212. This time, rather than converting it himself, he bought an already converted car from Peshawar for around a price bracket of PKR 15 million.
Performance
As per the owner, the performance of this car is exemplary. The V8 engine paired with a rear-wheel drive system is a driver’s dream. The launch is brutal; the car slides away on the immediate throttle and pushes you aback. As per the owner, he didn’t go for the 5.5-liter bi-turbo model as it was way too powerful and didn’t need that much power. In his opinion, this has perfect power and the comfort of a luxury sedan.
Exterior
The exterior of this car is a contrast between aggressive and elegant. This car is based on a pre-facelift E250, so the owner decided to facelift it as he really liked that look. In the facelift, the lights are changed, the front bumper is more aggressive, and the white colour suits the black AMG wheels and black trims around the exterior.
Fuel Average
Although irrelevant for a performance sedan like this, the owner is impressed by its highway fuel average. According to him, it gave around 8 to 9 km/l on his way from Peshawar to Lahore, which he thinks is very impressive for a 6.2-liter car. Within the city, the average depends on the driving style but gives roughly 4 to 5 km/l.
Maintenance
As per the owner, maintaining an AMG is not an issue now due to the good volume of cars in the country. However, periodic maintenance is very expensive, and it costs the owner 26 to 27,000 to replace its engine oil and filters.
