0 460

In this special episode of the PakWheels User Review Series, Suneel Munj catches up with young bike enthusiast Rizwan, famously known among viewers as “Junior Suneel Munj.” Last year, Rizwan was gifted an EV scooter, Evee Flipper, and now, a year later, he shares his honest experience of using it daily for school, errands, and fun rides.

Let’s deeply dive into how this compact electric ride has performed over the past year.

Daily Usage & Practical Experience

Rizwan has been using the Evee Slipper as his daily ride for both school commutes and evening errands. His feedback reflects real-world use and reliability:

  • Daily commute distance: Approx. 20 km

  • Charging frequency: Once a day (usually at night)

  • Charging time: Around 4–5 hours for a full charge

  • School travel time: Reduced from 15 minutes to just 2–3 minutes

  • Evening market commute: Previously took 45–60 minutes, now just 10–12 minutes

  • Result: Drastic time savings, less fatigue, and overall peace of mind

Range, Battery & Efficiency

Rizwan didn’t report any major issues with battery performance or range throughout the year. The EV scooter delivers enough range to handle school, errands, and some leisure riding all in one charge.

Estimated Performance:

  • Range per charge: Covers daily 20–30 km comfortably

  • Charging cost: Minimal (via standard home socket)

  • Charging time: 4–5 hours (overnight preferred)

Modifications & Customization

Rizwan takes pride in personalising his ride. He shared the updates he’s made:

  • Custom horns installed – V8-style, loud and effective

  • Sticker and wrap work – Gold accents on body, headlights, and shocks

  • Battery upgrade – Was added for extended backup, but was later stolen

  • Removed some accessories – Due to size or theft concerns

  • Front end restyled – For a cleaner, more balanced appearance

Build Quality & Wear and Tear

Despite being just 13, Rizwan has covered around 4,000 km in a year. He discussed general wear and tear:

  • Seat damage: Caused by a mischievous schoolmate, not by use

  • Rear light cover: Broken in a fall

  • Minor falls: One major fall in the early days, but none afterwards

  • Speedometer: Odometer cable temporarily disconnected

Comfort & Passenger Experience

Though designed as a solo ride, Rizwan often carries his friend Abdullah with him:

  • Passenger space: Comfortable for children and average-sized teens

  • Balance with pillion: No issue; rides confidently even with a passenger

  • Back seat cushioning: Adequate for short city rides

  • Foot placement: Slightly limited for taller passengers

Safety & Locking System

Being cautious, Rizwan ensures the scooter is always locked when parked:

  • Locking method:

    • Wired lock around tires

    • Parked near surveillance cameras when outside

  • Security concern: Especially during market visits

Suggestions for Improvement

Rizwan had some practical feedback based on real use:

  • Rear suspension: Replace twin shocks with a single centre shock for better balance and comfort

  • Brake performance:

    • Rear brakes are fine

    • The front brake feels slightly weak and needs improvement

  • Instrument cluster damage: Replaced once under warranty

Service & Warranty Experience

  • Warranty card: Received and used once after a minor meter issue

  • Service centre: Visited only once; otherwise, the bike didn’t need maintenance

  • Ease of service: No major complaints

Lighting & Utility

  • Front light: Working fine

  • Rear brake light: Functional, but its plastic cover broke during a fall

  • Front basket: Mostly unused, occasionally holds small items like tea

Next Upgrade Plans

Rizwan, now turning 13, is already eyeing his next upgrade:

  • Future target: A slightly larger EV bike (with bigger wheels and display)

  • Current scooter: Still suitable for his age, not yet road-legal for bigger options

  • Learning journey: From beginner to confident solo rider in just a year

Valuable Road Safety Message

Despite being young, Rizwan shared a mature and vital message for car drivers:

“Jab main side pe bhi ja raha hota hoon, gari wale horn dene lag jaate hain. Horn ka kam istemal karein, noise pollution bhi kam hoga, aur motorbike walon ka bhi khayal rakhein. Sarrak sab ki hai.”

Key Safety Reminders:

  • Use the horn sensibly – Avoid unnecessary noise pollution

  • Respect motorcyclists’ space – They are more vulnerable on the road

  • Every road user has an equal right to be there – Motorcyclists, to,o deserve consideration

Final Verdict: A Year Later

Rizwan’s 1-year journey with his EV scooter shows how even younger riders can benefit from electric mobility. It’s cost-effective, efficient, and incredibly practical for daily short-distance use. His ability to manage, maintain, and personalise his ride is impressive, proving that age doesn’t limit passion for vehicles.

With over 4,000 km covered, this EV has proven to be a reliable companion, offering independence, convenience, and confidence on the road.
