0 16,590

A few years back, hybrid crossovers in Pakistan were limited to just a handful of models. But things have changed quickly. Over the past few years, the market has seen a rapid increase in locally assembled hybrid crossovers, with around nine different options now available from various manufacturers. Hybrid vehicles are gaining momentum, not just here in Pakistan but across the globe, due to their fuel efficiency, smarter tech, and stronger performance compared to traditional naturally aspirated engines. As a result, nearly every brand launching a crossover today makes sure to include at least one hybrid variant.

So, out of these nine hybrid options, which one suits you best? We’ll review each car fairly and highlight its strongest points to help you figure out the perfect choice.

Haval H6 HEV

New Haval H6 Facelift Headed For Malaysia - Carlist

Price: Rs. 11,749,000

The Haval H6 Hybrid was among the earliest hybrid crossovers to arrive in Pakistan, and notably, the first-ever Chinese hybrid crossover introduced here. The car quickly became popular among celebrities and social media influencers, likely due to its premium feel and look, which is comparable to a mid-range German SUV but for a lot less money. Later, in April 2025, Haval introduced the facelift of H6 which included major exterior and interior design changes along with some add-one

Besides its appearance and feel, the car has a ton of safety and entertainment features. It comes equipped with a full ADAS package, including automatic parking that works seamlessly in clearly marked parking spaces.

Under the hood, there’s a 1.5-liter petrol hybrid engine producing 240 HP and a massive 530 Nm of torque—the highest torque figure among cars in this category. Inside, the cabin offers soft-touch materials on the dashboard, leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a huge 14.6-inch infotainment screen, also the largest in this class.

On the outside, you’ll notice 19″ alloys and unlike other brands that offer chrome or matte silver alloys, Haval has decided to give the facelift H6 black painted alloys, and they look pleasing to eyes along with DRLs to start from headlights to bumpers in straight line. The back is also minimal with GWM badging in the middle of tailights

If you want a car that offers solid value, drives smoothly, packs a lot of high-tech features, and gives you a super premium feel under 1.1 cr price, the H6 Hybrid is probably your best option.

Highlights:

  • Great interior
  • Packed with a lot of hi-tech goodies
  • Autonomous parking
  • Insane amount of combined torque (530 Nm)
  • 14.6″ infotainment, biggest infotainment size in this list

Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

Hyundai Nishat Motor (Private) Limited

Price: Rs.11,220,000- 12,240,000

The Tucson Hybrid was launched in April 2025, replacing the 3rd-generation Tucson in Pakistan. This generation uses a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine combined with an electric motor, producing 232 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through a six-speed automatic transmission, and the standard variant is FWD, while the top-spec is AWD. Due to hybrid powertrain, 4th gen Tucson is more fuel efficient and more powerful than the previous 3rd generation Tucson, which was naturally aspirated 2.0-liter.

Coming inside, the cabin is genuinely impressive. High-quality materials and clean styling give it an upmarket look, almost tricking you into thinking you’ve stepped into something much pricier.

On the driver side, there’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument display which is crisp, clear, and easy to glance at, even in bright daylight. You can tweak it using buttons on the steering wheel to show precisely the driving info you’re after. Beside it, there’s another 12.3-inch touchscreen, sitting under a single piece of glass. The infotainment setup is simple to operate, with logically arranged menus and quick responses to taps and swipes.

Unlike many modern cars that put the AC controls in the infotainment, Hyundai has retained separate heater controls, although they’re flat electronic buttons rather than traditional knobs. They’re decent enough once you get used to them. The drive mode selector is also in an unconventional place; it’s placed on the backside of the steering wheel.

Other good goodies are wireless charging, heads-up display, and even memory seats and all those basic features that you can expect. Besides electronics, the entire interior is wrapped in leather, and you get 8-way powered seats along with 2-way lumbar support.

On the exterior, you’ll notice sharp curves that are designed to enhance both aerodynamics and aesthetics. Along with that, you get 19″ alloys, which are the biggest rims size in this list, LED bar taillights, projector LED lamps, parking sensors for parking guidance, and collision warning alerts.

Highlights:

  • Better economy and more powerful than the previous 3rd-gen Tucson.
  • Solid built quality and plush interior that looks minimal without lot of confusing things
  • Good legroom for back passengers
  • Huge boot space

Kia Sportage L Hybrid

Kia Sportage 2025 Price in Pakistan – New Sportage L Variants & Features

Price: Rs.11,599,000

The Kia Sportage L Hybrid (5th generation) enters the game as the cooler cousin of the 4th generation Sportage—same family, just a smarter and greener due to hybrid powertrain. Underneath its bonnet lies a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with an electric motor, serving up 227 horsepower and a respectable dose of  350 Nm torque. The drivetrain is front-wheel, and the power to wheels is transferred through a six-speed transmission.

Step inside, and you’ll find a well-finished cabin that’s nice to sit in. The screens are sharp, both the instrument cluster and infotainment display are 12.3 inches each and sit under a single glass panel. Buttons are clear, and it feels like Kia’s designers were finally let loose to make something you’d actually want to sit in. On the move, the ride is smooth and comfortable enough to keep passengers happy.

Just like Tucson and Haval, you get all the fancy and practical goodies, including ambient lighting, wireless charging, digital climate control, ADAS package, and the main highlight we think is the Harmon Kardon sound system that sounds superb and better than any new crossover in this price category.

On the outside, the Sportage has smooth curves and a slightly extended boot, offering extra storage space. It rides on 18-inch rims, pretty standard for this category. The front end looks aggressive thanks to those boomerang-style DRLs. The grille is finished in black instead of chrome, which adds to the sporty look. Overall, the design feels balanced, and it has a futuristic feel.

It’s not exactly a fire-breathing rocket ship, but the Sportage L Hybrid has just enough poke to feel lively around town or on motorway overtakes. Plus, you’ll feel a bit smug knowing you’re burning less fuel due to hybrid powertrain.

Highlights:

  • Turbocharged 1.6-litre hybrid, quick enough, yet easy on fuel

  • Cabin feels solid and classy; Kia’s seriously upped its game inside

  • Lot of legroom and boot is super huge

  • ADAS package and 6 airbags

Toyota Corolla Cross HEV

Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric

Price: Rs.8,999,000-9,449,000

The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid sticks closely to Toyota’s usual script. Inside, the cabin feels solid enough and the language is very simple. You get Toyota’s typical layout, clear screens, and easy-to-find controls, but the features list isn’t something that’ll get you excited, especially compared to rivals that offer more tech and better refinement.

Space in the back seats isn’t exactly generous either; taller passengers might find knee room a bit tight. The Corolla Cross drives smoothly and offers decent fuel economy, but performance is merely adequate rather than lively.

This car is based on Toyota’s 12th-generation Corolla platform and offers standard features you’d expect and will need in daily life, such as dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, a sunroof, steering-mounted controls, soft-touch leather upholstery, rear parking sensors, seven airbags, and cruise control. However, it misses out on some advanced features, including ADAS, heated seats, wireless charging, powered passenger seats, paddle shifters, and a heads-up display.

On the outside, the Corolla Cross carries Toyota’s signature blue emblem and blue-accented headlights, which represent that it is a Toyota hybrid. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, and its styling looks contemporary rather than dated. The projector headlamps, black-painted grille, and LED-bar taillights combine nicely, giving the car a modern look.

Overall, it’s a safe and sensible choice, but certainly not the best option if you’re looking for high-tech features or more room to stretch your legs.

Highlights:

  • Toyota’s one of the most reliable hybrid engines with good fuel economy

  • Interior follows Toyota’s 12th generation signature

  • Smooth ride, handles daily driving without fuss

  • Bit compromised rear legroom; taller passengers may feel cramped

That’s all for now. Stay tuned for Part 2, where we’ll take a look at the remaining hybrid crossovers available in Pakistan.
