Islamabad: The Ministry of Finance has permitted the commercial import of used vehicles up to five years old until June 30, 2026, with the age cap to be removed thereafter, according to the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
The duty will be reduced every year, as per the following process:

From now until June 2026, imported used cars will pay an extra 40% regulatory duty on top of regular customs duty.

After June 2026, this extra duty will drop by 10 percentage points each year:

2026–27: 30%

2027–28: 20%
-
2028–29: 10%
-
2029–30: 0% (no extra regulatory duty)

Regular customs duty will still apply throughout.
The committee also decided that all imported vehicles must comply with environmental and safety standards.
