Sazgar to Export Vehicles to Philippines, Mexico and Afghanistan

KARACHI – Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW), one of Pakistan’s leading automakers, has announced plans to expand its international footprint.

The company is preparing to enter three new export destinations — the Philippines, Mexico, and Afghanistan — as part of its strategy to diversify revenue streams and strengthen long-term growth. The update came during an analyst briefing with Topline Securities on Thursday.

Pakistan’s recent floods have caused major setbacks for industries, damaging transport routes and delaying supply chains. Sazgar, however, reported that its deliveries were largely unaffected. The only major disruption occurred when the Karachi–Lahore highway was temporarily closed, halting supplies for a brief period.

Production and Expansion Plans

To meet demand, the company is producing 60 vehicles per day, exceeding its official capacity of 40 units. Management is now considering capacity expansion:

  • Installed capacity: 40 units/day
  • Current output: 60 units/day
  • Planned increase: 100–120 units/day, with double shifts if required

Sazgar also revealed plans to launch two new models — Tank and Canon Alpha — by March 2026.

The company’s earnings reflected strong momentum. Turnover rose 89% to Rs109 billion, while profit after tax jumped 106% to Rs16 billion. Management credited much of this growth to robust Haval sales.
