0 1,854

Today we present you with an owner’s review of a daily drive Ford Mustang GT. In this review, the owner shares his experience with this American pony car and also tells us about its specs and features. This is the facelifted model of the 6th generation mustang, which came in 2018.

The GT variant is powered by a 5.0 V8 engine producing around 450hp and 530 nm of torque configured with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Mustang is also offered in a 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine, but the V8 does justice to it by enabling the car to achieve 0 to 100 in 4.8 seconds.

Purchase Decision

The owner previously had a BMW 530e and was looking for an upgrade, mainly in performance. He initially considered the Porsche Taycan but opted out due to the absence of a proper service network. He also had an option of the BMW i8, but he felt that it was outdated and its hybrid engine didn’t excite him. He finally landed on the Mustang GT as there were limited V8 Mustangs in Pakistan, and it also provided a proper sports car feel. He bought the car at a price range of 30 to 35 million rupees.

Salient Features

The Ford Mustang GT is equipped with a ton of features. It has 5 driving modes, including quiet, normal, sports, snow/wet, and race track. The active-valve exhaust also has modes with which exhaust sound can be adjusted. More features include an infotainment system with Apple car play and Android auto, 10 speakers, a subwoofer, a rear camera, electric seats, and a digital instrument cluster. Safety features include 8 airbags along with ADAS features, including collision warnings, emergency braking, lane-keep assist, hill start assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Missing Features

The car comes pre-loaded with several features; however, one thing the owner feels is the lack of a sunroof. The Mustang is not offered in a sunroof, although a convertible top is offered, which the owner thinks ruins the car’s shape.

Ground Clearance

As per the owner, this is his daily driven car, and ground clearance is not an issue for him. He further mentioned that he even took the vehicle in areas with bad roads and never once faced any problems. Although the car is still relatively low, it needs to be driven cautiously.

Maintenance

The owner gets his car maintained by certain local mechanics who know the car’s mechanical and electric components. Concerning oil change and filters, he gets them sourced from either the UK or Dubai. He gets his oil changed roughly every 4000 kilometers, which costs him around Rs. 15 to 18,000.

Spare Parts

As per the owner, maintenance parts like filters are available locally from specific workshops due to the increase in exotic car imports. However, body parts like headlights need to be imported. Prices of these parts are very high, and they also may take a considerable amount of time to arrive.
