Public Poll: Honda CG150 Tops as the Successor to YBR

0

A few days ago, we ran a poll on our social media platforms asking a simple question:
“After the Yamaha YBR, who will take its spot?”

We gave our audience four options to choose from:

  • Honda CG150
  • Honda CB150F
  • Suzuki GSX125
  • Suzuki GS150

Usually, when we write about the best bikes or cars, we share our own opinions and experiences. But this time, we decided to switch things up — why not let the audience decide?

The response was amazing, and the number of votes we received was more than enough to analyze. So, here’s what the public thinks will take the YBR’s crown:

Honda CG150 is #1 — The Bike People Believe Will Take the YBR’s Spot

Votes Received: 42.83%

According to the poll results, Honda CG150 is the winner, securing 42.83% of the total votes. It seems the public strongly believes that this model is the most deserving successor to the Yamaha YBR’s throne.

Looking back, the Honda CG150 was launched just a week before Yamaha announced it would be ending its operations in Pakistan. The reason we believe it’s a strong contender is because of its timing and competitive pricing.

The CG150 is also priced lower than the Yamaha YBR’s top-trim G variant, yet it offers everything the YBR does. Plus, it’s a 150cc engine, bigger than the YBR, and backed by Atlas Honda, a far bigger name with a strong hold in Pakistan’s two-wheeler market.

One more thing we would like to add is that CG150, being a newly launched model, has a fresh buzz around it, unlike the YBR, which has been in production since 2015 without any change.

Honda CB150F Grabs the Runner-Up Spot

Votes Received: 29.30%

CB150F Silver | Atlas Honda

Coming in second place, the Honda CB150F secured 29.30% of the total votes. It’s not far behind the CG150, showing that many riders still have confidence in Honda’s premium 150cc lineup.

The CB150F has been in the market for many years and has built a solid reputation, especially among people who use motorcycles for long tours, because no doubt, the seat, comfort, and suspension of the CB150F are the best in the class.

However, its relatively higher price tag compared to the CG150 might be the main reason it didn’t take the top spot.

Suzuki GSX125 Ranks Third

Votes Received: 15.35%

The Suzuki GSX125 took 15.35% of the votes, placing third in the race to replace the YBR. Its biggest hurdle appears to be the huge price tag, so many voters see it as more expensive than Honda’s CG150 and CB150F.

Surely, its built quality is up to the mark. But if you compare it compare it side-by-side, the value case weakens. The Honda pair benefits from lower upfront cost, a denser dealer network, easier parts availability, and typically stronger resale—all factors that matter in the 125–150cc segment.

Suzuki GS150 Ranks Last

Votes Received: 12.51%

The Suzuki GS150 came last in the poll. The main reason for its low ranking is simple: it’s outdated and doesn’t even come with standard features that other options provide, like alloy rims, disc brakes, a fuel gauge, and a gear indicator, making it the least value for money. Moreover, the GS150’s design hasn’t changed in decades; therefore, it’s no wonder that it came last in the poll.
