Are You Ready For MG3 – Javed Afridi Asks For Umpteenth Time

1 22,177

Javed Afridi is back with a fresh tweet, and there are zero numbers of guessing the subject of that tweet. It seems like Afridi enjoys tweeting about MG3, a car that we have been waiting for don’t know how long. Afridi has tweeted again and again about this hatchback for the last couple of years, asking about the potential price, the possible launch, or his favorite question, “Are you ready for MG3?”

We have lost count of how many times he has asked us this question, and it has become kind of redundant. If MG Pakistan wants to launch this car, just do it. There is no use in teasing repeatedly. And it feels like ages ago when Afridi told us that MG would launch MG3 for under Rs. 2 million because we don’t think it would be possible under current situation of the country and auto industry.

In his latest tweet about the car, Afridi once again asked us: “Pakistan are you ready? #MG3″ And he shared a photo of the car in yellow colour.

Is MG3 in Future Line up?

Last year, MG Pakistan displayed some cars as its future lineup; interestingly, MG 3 was not among them. Furthermore, MG has never officially acknowledged that they are planning to launch this hatchback in Pakistan. Although Javed Afridi is the poster boy for MG Pakistan, he and the company seem to have completely different directions.

In August this year, Afridi tweeted that MG3 is “coming soon,” and in March, he claimed that locally assembled MG3, MG5, and MG Gloster would be launched soon. But nothing has happened so far, and it seems highly likely in the near future.

Anyway, here are the salient specs and features of MG3 in the global market.

MG 3 is a 1500cc subcompact hatchback. The car is available in the international market in its 2nd generation. Its 1.5-liter engine comes with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car has a sharp look and a set of premium features, such as:

  • Cruise Control
  • 8″ touchscreen infotainment screen
  • Rear Parking Sensors
  • Six Airbags
  • Emergency Braking Assistance
  • Hill Hold Control
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TYPS)

What do you think is why Afridi asks us about MG3 repeatedly? Please share your thoughts in the comments section.
