Normally, new year is the best time to buy new cars with the latest model year. But the rising fuel and car prices have broken people’s spirits and taken the car sales down.
The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has posted the monthly car sales for January 2022. As per the PAMA report, the four PAMA members (Pak Suzuki, Toyota Indus, Honda Atlas, and Hyundai Nishat) sold a total of 20,610 cars in January. Compared to the 27,331 sales of December, there is a month-on-month decline of 25%.

For an ordinary salaried class person, which we call the middle class, the prices are beyond reach. Middle class drives sales. When the middle class has no spare cash in hand, then sales will go down. The abnormal increase was due to investors looking for an easy OWN money. It wasn’t a sustainable business. Lets see where it goes from here.
