The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has posted the monthly car sales report for November 2021. Last time, the car sales clocked in at 21,000 units in October, down by 6% month-on-month. This time, four PAMA members (Pak Suzuki, Toyota Indus, Honda Atlas, and Hyundai Nishat) sold 18,714 units in November, a month-on-month decline of 11%.
This downward trend is mainly because people are waiting for the new year to buy new cars with model year 2022.
Company-Wise Sales Breakdown
Pak Suzuki Motors saw a downfall in car sales, with 8,522 units sold in November. (MoM decline: 16.8%)
Toyota Indus Motors also lost car sales with 6,315 units sold in November. (MoM decline: 8.44%)
Hyundai Nishat had a rough sales month in a long time,with only 748 bookings in November. (MoM decline: 29.7%)
Surprisingly, Honda Atlas was the only PAMA member to have a good sales month, recording 3,010 sales in November. (MoM growth: 13.2%)
All other car companies, Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton, are not PAMA members. Their sales numbers are not included in the report.
Car-Wise Sales Breakdown
For the first time this year, Suzuki sold only 2,420 units of its best-seller car, Suzuki Alto. The company sold 1,651 units of Suzuki Cultus, 1,989 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 1,189 units of Suzuki Bolan, and 6 units of Suzuki Swift.
Another shocker of the month came from Toyota Indus, where Yaris had less sales than Corolla. The company sold 1,975 units of Yaris, 2,786 units of Corolla, 830 units of Hilux, and 724 units of Fortuner.
Honda Atlas sold 2,771 units of Civic and City and 239 units of BR-V.
Hyundai Nishat sold 244 units of Elantra, 320 units of Sonata, 135 units of Porter, and only 49 units of Tucson.
