Car Sales Increased By 36% In November – Report

After observing a sharp downturn, things looks back on track – local car assemblers are witnessing a slight jump in sales charts. Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) shared a monthly report narrating a 36% increase in car sales last month. The car industry sold 18,391 units in November compared to 12,502 cars in October – a month-on-month (MoM) increase of 36%.

Company-Wise Sales Breakdown

The Japanese car maker Toyota Indus observed a slight decrease in sales, sold 3,242 units last month against 3,374 cars in October – recorded a month-on-month decline of 4%.

Hyundai Nishat faces the same fate. The company witnessed a downturn of 9% MoM sales, selling 441 units last month compared to 486 vehicles in October 2022. (MoM decline: 9%)

Whereas Honda Atlas car sales posted a month-on-month (MoM) jump of 38% in November, sold 1,973 units compared to 1,425 vehicles in October.

Coming to the Pak Suzuki Motors Company (PSMC), the company outsold its Japanese peers Toyota and Honda, sold 12,400 units last month against 8,003 vehicles in October – flaunted an increase of 55%. (MoM growth: 55%)

It is pertinent to mention that all other car companies, Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton, are not PAMA members. Their sales numbers are not included in the report.

Car-Wise Sales Breakdown

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company sold 2,255 units of Alto, 1,136 units of Suzuki Cultus, 718 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 2,246 units of Suzuki Swift, 504 units of Suzuki Bolan, and 541 units of Suzuki Ravi.

Toyota Indus sold 3,242 units of Corolla and Yaris and 1,309 units of Fortuner and Hilux.

Honda Atlas sold 1,509 units of Civic and City and 464 units of BR-V and HR-V.

Hyundai Nishat sold 101 units of Elantra, 42 units of Sonata, 86 units of Porter, and 212 units of Tucson.
