Changan to Launch Pakistan’s First Locally Assembled REEV — Deepal S05
Karachi: Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) plans to begin local assembly of the Deepal S05, a range-extended hybrid electric C-segment SUV, in November 2025. The vehicle features a hybrid driving experience in which motors power the wheels and the engine charges the battery, combining for a driving range of over 1000 km.
The S05 is built on an EV-first platform that leverages the longest wheelbase and widest body currently offered in Pakistan, boasting the largest cabin space among local C-segment SUVs, according to Changan.
The model is already on sale internationally under the Deepal brand.
The S05’s exterior, designed by Klaus Zyciora (formerly Volkswagen Group), won the iF Design Award, confirming its place among the world’s most forward-thinking vehicles.
MCML reports that more than 65,000 of its vehicles are on the road in Pakistan since its market entry six years ago. In 2024, the company introduced the Deepal brand locally with the S07 SUV and the L07 sedan. Additionally, MCML reports that it earned the badge of the 3rd most-sold car brand in August 2025.
Road testing for the S05 is underway in Pakistan. A walkaround video is available via PakWheels.
