Exclusive: Wuling Binguo EV Soon Coming to Pakistan?
A fresh batch of compact electric vehicles (EVs) has quietly landed at Karachi port, according to insider information. CCTV footage from a yard in Karachi shows multiple units of a small EV parked alongside an MG ZS EV, hinting that these vehicles may soon join Pakistan’s lineup of electric offerings.

While the identity of the cars was initially unclear, the CCTV snapshots reveal them to be the Wuling Binguo EV, an all-electric subcompact hatchback, mostly popular in the Chinese and Indonesian markets.
Moreover, the Binguo EV has also established a strong presence in China, capturing 5.8% of the country’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) market share as of 2025.
What is the Wuling Binguo EV?
The Wuling Binguo (also known as “BinguoEV”) is a fully electric sub-compact hatchback manufactured by Wuling Motors, a Chinese automaker under the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) Motors. SAIC is also the same group behind the MG brand, which has already established a good footprint in Pakistan’s market.
Availability and Price
Currently, the Wuling Binguo EV is available in:
-
China (its home market)
-
Indonesia, where it has been officially launched
In Indonesia, the starting price of the Wuling Binguo EV is approximately 279 million Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), equivalent to roughly PKR 4.7 million after conversion.
However, if introduced in Pakistan, the actual market retail price (MRP) will be significantly higher due to import duties, regulatory costs, and other taxes.
Why Pakistan?
The key reason this is exciting for Pakistan is that the same group that introduced MG in Pakistan appears to be bringing the Wuling Binguo EV as well. Given the rising interest in EVs, from both consumers and government initiatives, this could mark a new step towards affordable electric mobility in the country.
