Petrol price in Pakistan reached a record high in the last revision after the government announced a shocking Rs. 26 per liter increase on September 15, 2023. As per the government, fluctuation in the rupee rate against the dollar and international fuel prices are reasons behind this huge jump. After the latest announcement, the petrol price in Pakistan has reached Rs. 331.38 per liter, up from Rs. 305.36. Simultaneously, high-speed diesel (HSD) experienced a significant jump of Rs. 17.34 per liter, reaching Rs.329.18 from its previous price of Rs. 311.84.
The fuel prices in Pakistan are directly linked to inflation as everything, especially daily commodities, becomes expensive with such developments. Most importantly, driving a car or even a bike in this inflation-ridden time has become problematic for the middle-class section of society. A significant number of people have shifted from cars to bikes for daily commuters, while bike owners are also facing issues in riding because it has become very costly.
Solution?
Pakistanis as a nation are famous as Jugaroos; we tend to find unconventional solutions to the problems, and this is what a couple of local boys have done to tackle expensive petrol price. As per a video going viral on social media, two boys are riding 70cc bikes, and the fuel of these bikes is? Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a gas used in cylinders. Before moving forward, it is pertinent to mention that rickshaws in Pakistan regularly use LPG as a fuel. Anyways, back to the boys.
The video shows that two bikes have red LPG cylinders on the back of two bikes, going smoothly on the road. The video maker was pleasantly surprised and asked the boys if it was gas, and was more surprised after getting the answer in the affirmative. Then he asked them if it was CNG. The boys answered, no, it is LPG, and they had installed the cylinders in the back and connected them with the engine.
Fuel Average
Talking about the average, the boys claimed it gives 270 kilometers per kilo, and the rate of one kilogram of LPG is Rs. 270. Isn’t it astonishing? It is. Then, he asked them the critical question about the place and expense of this modification. “We got it done from Larry Adda, and it only cost Rs. 8,500,” the boys answered, shocking the video-making individual.

Questions could be raised about the safety of this mechanism, but as they say, necessity is the mother of invention, and this one is specifically a huge necessity. Hopefully, this mechanism would be suitable for the bike’s engine and proved to be a cost-worthy invention for the bikers.
