PLOT Behind Recent Episode?
The plot behind the government’s humble request is taken from the statement of Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik, revealing that the federal government has discarded the plan to launch Sasta Petrol Scheme. And from now, Russian Oil will be the new hope for the inflation-stricken masses of Pakistan.
In a press conference, Mr. Malik stated the agreement couldn’t disclose the price of Russian Oil, but Pakistan will get a good discount on this crude Oil. The Russian oil cargo is on its way, and will reach Pakistan by the end of this month.
He further informed that a refinery is being built in Pakistan with an investment of up to 14 billion dollars. The government has halted the implementation of the cheap petrol package for the public in the face of reservations raised by international financial institutions. Petrol prices in Pakistan will observe a slump after Russian crude Oil Reaches Pakistan.
The Minister of State said that efforts are being made to make petroleum products cheaper in Pakistan after their prices decrease in international markets.
It is pertinent to mention that International Monetary Fund (IMF) expressed apprehensions over this plan. The experts believe that the announcement of this scheme is one of the reasons causing the delay in the release of the next installment of the loan to Pakistan.
