I am guessing the government is losing its head just like the public, why the reduction now after it earlier vehemently placed the blame on I.M.F. and rising import cost? By this decision it is going to only fuel suspicion in public and create problems for future because public would then never trust the government’s word.
Besides, have ever a reduction of price reversed the impacts that an enhancement in it were suffered by public? Prices of goods and services taken up are never declined in line with fall the petrol prices are subjected to, so what is the use of maintaining such a short lived policy? Because this change would increase petrol’s demand again and thereby cause a dent in import bill, and it is also important to teach people to live sustainably, therefore in my view, prices should be taken up to PKR 300 at-least.
