The first phase of the project is already in motion, with 380 buses set to begin service in Lahore and Gujranwala. These are just the first steps in a larger plan that will bring electric buses to cities like Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan, and Dera Ghazi Khan. To make this transition sustainable, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also directed officials to prepare a plan for installing electric charging stations. Modernizing the Transport System
In a further step toward modernization, the government has approved the development of a centralized Transport Tower and Command and Control Center in Lahore. This facility will serve as the operational hub, monitoring and coordinating the electric bus system across the province.
