Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) and Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) have announced to extend production cuts in Pakistan. Both the automakers blamed the new mechanism inflicted by the State Bank of Pakistan has taken away their capacity to produce cars.
It is related to mention that new import curbs hao dve slowed down CKD kits imports which in turn run out the inventory.
Pakistan Suzuki Ceases Their Production Again
Pak Suzuki made an announcement on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to halt their production again for three days from October 19 to 21.
Company’s official notification reads:
“Due to shortage of inventory levels, the company management had decided to shut down the automobile plant from October 19, 2022 to October 21, 2022. Further updates in this regard, if any, will be communicated accordingly.”
Honda Atlas Announce New Production Cuts
Following its Japanese peer, Honda Atlas also announced non-production days again for three days from October 12 to 15.
Company’s notification read:
“As a result of the government’s stringent measures of minimizing the import of CKD kits and raw materials, the company’s supply chain had been disrupted, leading to the plant shutdown till October 11, 2021. Due to the continuation of the said problem, management has decided to further extend the shutdown of the plant from October 12, 2022 to October 15 2022.”
Honda’s First Electric SUV
After teasing its first electric vehicle (SUV) for years, finally, the company got its first battery-electric SUV, dubbed “prologue,” co-developed with General Motors.
Honda has released a batch of its images as the SUV will hit the market soon, sometime in 2024, with its sales beginning first in North America. Earlier, we have also observed its animated iteration, but the real photos come with extra detailing in terms of design and styling.
