The Interior Ministry has approved the purchase of 20 double-cabin vehicles to boost the mobility and operational capacity of the Islamabad police and city administration, officials confirmed Thursday.
Under the plan, the vehicles will be divided equally — 10 for the police and 10 for the administration — to strengthen field operations and improve administrative efficiency in the federal capital.
All eight assistant commissioners will receive new vehicles, while the additional Deputy Commissioner General has also been included in the allocation list.
For the police, the vehicles are set to be handed over to superintendents of police in the Operations Division. Senior officers, including the SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, SSP Security, and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), are also among the beneficiaries.
Officials added that starting next month, the SP Dolphin will be provided a double-cabin vehicle as well, aimed at enhancing patrolling and quick response capabilities across Islamabad.
