Islamabad — Ahead of the Tri-Nation One-Day International (ODI) Cricket Series starting November 17, 2025, at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a detailed traffic management plan to help ease congestion between the twin cities during match days.

Thousands of fans are expected to attend the event, prompting early route advisories and diversions to ensure the safe movement of teams and spectators.

Over 300 Officers Deployed for Traffic Control

More than 300 traffic personnel will be stationed across key intersections in Islamabad, especially on Srinagar Highway, Islamabad Expressway, and 9th Avenue, to ensure smooth travel during team movements and peak hours.

Alternate Routes for Key Road Closures

To facilitate security for teams and minimize disruption, ITP has shared the following alternate routes for commuters:

  • If Faisal Avenue is closed:
Use Srinagar Highway, Club Road via Faizabad, or Park Road via Lehtrar Road
  • If 9th Avenue is closed:
Alternate: Sabzi Mandi Mor → Police Lines Chowk → Srinagar Highway, or Golra Mor → Peshawar Mor → Srinagar Highway
  • For traffic from Margalla Road toward Khanna:
Suggested route: Blue Area → Club Road → Lehtrar Road

Service roads and secondary corridors will remain open. Directional signage will guide drivers during restricted hours.
