“I’ve Put Only 2 Tanks of Fuel Since 2022 in This BMW 330e” – Owner Review
Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 2022 BMW 3 series. This is the 7th generation 3 series which debuted in 2018 and got a facelift in 2022. This particular car is the 330e variant with a 2.0-liter Twin Power turbo 4-cylinder engine producing 181 hp. This engine is mated with an electric motor that pumps out 107hp, producing a combined output of 288hp and 420 nm of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission delivering power to the rear wheels.
Purchase Decision
This 330e was not the owner’s initial consideration, as he booked an i4 from Dewan in 2021, which was meant to be delivered in May 2023. In April 2023, Dewan told him that due to import issues, it would take another year for the i4 to arrive; thus, he could either wait, take his booking amount back or choose another readily available car.
He decided to opt for an available car with three choices; a 530e, a 3 series M package, and this 330e. The owner opted for this 330e as the 5 series was out of his budget, and the M package was too flashy. He bought this car for 23 million rupees.
Charging And Range
Being a plug-in hybrid, this 330e can be driven totally on its battery, and as per the owner, he has put in only two full tanks in the one year he has had this car. It takes around 4 to 5 hours to charge the battery, which gives an electric range of 51 kilometers. As per the owner, this range increases up to 60-65 kilometers when driving in traffic as the car regenerates energy from braking.
Salient Features
The BMW 330e comes equipped with a host of features. Some of these include a digital instrument cluster and iDrive 7 for the infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a virtual assistant using voice recognition, and much more.
Additionally, it has a sunroof, electric leather seats with driver memory function, dual-zone climate control, wooden trims, cruise control, parking sensors, auto parking, etc. Although inaccessible in Pakistan, this car has an interesting feature that automatically switches the car from normal to EV mode in low and ultra-low emission zones, which are present in Europe.
Fuel Average
The main advantage of the 330e is its fuel average and efficiency. Due to its smart powertrain configuration, the car is able to provide around 25 km/l within the city. This average deteriorates when driving at constant speeds as energy regeneration does not occur.
Servicing And Warranty
As per the owner, he has been buying cars through Dewan for almost 20 years and maintains them from Dewan too. Periodic maintenance is standard, with oil and filter replacement due every 10,000 kilometers. Besides that, BMW gives a 3-year or 50,000-kilometer car warranty plus an 8-year warranty for the battery.
