KP Police Unveil Advanced Surveillance Drone for Counter-Terrorism and Crowd Control
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police have unveiled an advanced surveillance drone capable of flying up to 10 kilometres, equipped with a laser-targeting system and night-vision support to boost operational efficiency.
Developed under the supervision of the Central Police Office (CPO), the 55-kg drone can carry a 10-kg payload, maintain a flight time of one hour, and reach speeds of 36 km/h at an altitude of 1,000 metres.
Officials stated that the drone can be fitted with high-definition cameras, tear-gas shells, and mortar rounds, enabling its use in counter-terrorism operations, crowd monitoring, and emergency response.
The drone was successfully tested at the Nowshera Police Centre, marking a significant technological milestone for KP Police. Authorities said the innovation positions the province among Pakistan’s most technologically advanced law-enforcement forces.
