Lahore General Hospital (LGH), the famous health facilities in the city, experiences high traffic flow throughout the day, making it one of the busiest areas in the city. The parking area at LGH gets occupied rapidly during peak hours due to the significant number of visitors and staff. Consequently, vehicles end up parking on the roads, resulting in traffic congestion.
During his conversation with the media, Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, the caretaker provincial health minister, shared information regarding the future plans for Lahore General Hospital (LGH). He announced that a dedicated parking plaza will be constructed in the near future to alleviate the traffic congestion in the area and ensure sufficient parking spaces for the hospital staff.
The health minister further revealed that the hospital will be equipped with a specialized pediatric urology ward to meet the healthcare needs of patients in that field. He emphasized that the caretaker government is committed to providing comprehensive support to the public by implementing various initiatives.
Illegal Parking Restricted
Stringent measures are being taken to address the issue of illegal parking. Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa recently issued a directive to crack down on unauthorized parking in commercial buildings in Lahore. The order emphasized the collaboration between the police and local administration to effectively implement the enforcement measures.
The initiative involves sealing non-compliant plazas and buildings while imposing fines on illegal parking areas. The joint operation will be carried out by the metropolitan wings of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), as well as Assistant Commissioners (ACs), as stated by Randhawa.
Furthermore, efforts are being made to provide adequate and convenient parking facilities in high-demand areas. This includes the construction of parking plazas, expansion of existing parking spaces, and exploring innovative solutions such as smart parking systems.
By implementing these measures, the authorities aim to enforce discipline in parking practices, reduce traffic congestion, and ensure smooth traffic flow for the benefit of all road users.
