Mark X With Remote-Controlled Air Suspension – Owner Review
Diving back into the owner review series, we return with a custom 2005 Toyota Mark X. Unveiling in November 2004, the Mark X turned heads, inheriting the lineage of the Mark II series.
Price
Bought for Rs. 3.2 million, the specific model is the 250G basic variant equipped with a stock engine generating 212hp and 260 nm of torque. Come aboard as we inquire about the owner’s experience and the specs and features of this car.
Air Suspension
Customization Cost
An issue faced here, as revealed, is the leakage problem owing to the loosening of nuts and pipes. However, the owner fixed it in his garage independently without significant hardships. Contrary to 90% of the cars getting their air suspension units from Gujranwala, he opted to get his vehicle customized in Lahore, paying a total of Rs. 480,000.
Aesthetic Enhancements
The car’s overall aesthetics and appearance captivate any observer. Sourcing the front nose from Japan, the car’s forepart comprises original carbon fiber, and the rest is wrapped in black. Other impressive modifications include 18-inch-deep dish rims, a body kit, custom headlights, and a custom-made straight-pipe exhaust. As of now, the interior remains untouched.
Fuel Average
If you’re expecting a decent average, we’re afraid you might want to reconsider. Thanks to the owner’s heavy foot on the accelerating pedal, this Mark X offers only 6.5 to 7 km/l of fuel average.
Maintenance and Spare Parts
Concerning routine maintenance, the owner takes a rather unconventional approach in changing the engine oil where the mileage is unaccounted for, and a monthly cycle is preferred. Each oil replacement costs around PKR 25,000-26,000 to the owner due to the choice of premium oil. As for the spare parts, availability is not an issue.
Missing Features
The owner desires a sunroof and traction control in this model; both features are extremely rare in this variant of the Mark X.
