Welcome to another episode of PakWheels Owner’s Review series. Today, we have with us the owner of a newly launched Chinese car, the MG ZS. The electric version of this car is also available and popular in the local market. There is also the option of MG HS, which is the biggest MG player in the market. So, why did the owner go for the least popular MG car? And is he happy with his decision? Let’s find out.

Purchase & Price

The owner says he had his eyes on MG ZS and waited for MG Pakistan to launch this car. He loved the first MG car in Pakistan, the MG HS, but that was out of his budget. After some research, he found out that MG ZS is just as good as HS, that too, at a lesser price. So, he bought the vehicle as soon as he could.

“Sure, HS has many additional features. But there is also a price difference of 1.6 million rupees”, said the owner.

He bought this MG ZS in the mid of July for Rs. 41 lacs 35 thousand. The car was driven 500 kilometers, as good as new.

Fuel Average

The owner has driven the car for about 1300 kilometers now and is happy with its fuel average, 11+ kilometers in the city and around 13 kilometers on the highway.

Drive

According to the owner, MG ZS has an amazing road grip and smooth drive. It does not feel underpowered at all, as he had heard from some people. The ground clearance is also excellent.

AC Performance

The air conditioning system is conventional and outdated but performs really well. There are no AC vents at the rear.

Feature Highlights

The owner is especially fond of the exterior and interior of the MG ZS. The car’s looks attracted him in the first place. Beautiful front headlights with DRLs, fog lamps, and alloy wheels contribute to the looks. The cabin is comfortable and roomy. There are leather seats, six airbags, a 10.1-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and cruise control.

Missing Features

There are three things that the owner misses in his MG ZS: retractable mirrors, a console box, and a panoramic sunroof

Parts Availability

MG ZS car parts are available in the local market. However, the prices are sky-high. A single headlight costs around 98,000 rupees.

Resale

The owner does not want to sell his new MG ZS. But even if he changes his plan, resale won’t be an issue as there’s still 1.5 to 2 lacs ON on this car.

Final Statement on MG ZS

The owner of MG ZS loves his car in every which way. In the words of the owner — “Given the choice of buying the new MG ZS EV with more features and an electric powertrain, I would still buy the non-electric ZS.”
